PIONEER GUARD DRILL TEAM RECRUITING VIDEO

In the summer of 2024, my drill team, The Pioneer Guard, needed a recruiting video. I pulled footage from multiple sources and focused on creating a sense of scale and intensity to attract new members.

 

For this project, I experimented with editing to music for the first time, cutting movements directly to the beat. I switched from iMovie to DaVinci Resolve, which gave me more control over timing and detail.

One of the most important moments comes at 1:49, where I layered chanting audio over marching footage to create a stronger emotional impact. That moment helped define the tone of the video and made it feel more powerful.

This project taught me how to edit for emotion rather than just assembling clips, and it changed how I approach pacing and sound in my work.
